The Carmel Art Association is proud to present a solo show featuring the works of Daria Shachmut, entitled "When the Cows Come Home". Since moving to the Carmel Highlands in 2007, Daria Shachmut has focused on portraits of the Hereford cattle of El Sur Ranch and the Longhorn cattle of Bar 46 Ranch in the Central Valley. Her works convey each animal's temperament through its body gestures and in the unique light conditions of the Coast and the Central Valley. Throughout her career, Daria's work has been displayed in such prestigious museums as the Corning Museum, Corning, New York; the Minnesota Museum of American Art; and the collection of the Oakland Museum, Oakland, California.
