SOFA UNDERGROUND SF is a Micro Art & Music Festival in private flats and houses with the purpose of creating a homely and intimate space between the artist and their fellow pilgrims. This concept originated in Europe, with nine hosting cities thus far; the events in San Francisco are the first on the west coast. After exactly one year, SOFA UNDERGROUND SF is coming back to Merchants of Reality.
Join us on Friday, August 14th for an experience that combines live music and A Step Inn Time; an art exhibition that will take you through the different incarnations of the space currently occupied and curated by Merchants of Reality. These artists created spaces that replicate in form and/or practice that which has existed or has been created within the space throughout the building’s history. This exhibition connects the historical and potentially metaphysical in an attempt to interpret and recreate our sensitive understanding of the space through historical records and accounts.
Come experience the feel of a sofa that is very, very underground.
