Stanford Repertory Theater (SRT) presents Naomi Wallace’s Slaughter City as part of its 18th annual summer festival, Theater Takes a Stand, celebrating the American labor movement.
Directed by Alex Johnson, Wallace’s Slaughter City tells a spiky, humorous, and ultimately riveting story of a US meatpacking plant. With songs, movement, and ensemble creativity, Slaughter City unleashes theatrical magic and meaning. A West Coast premiere, SRT’s Slaughter City features Leontyne Mbele, Nora Tjossem, Fiona Maguire, Louis McWilliams, Thomas Freeland, Dorian Lockett, and Austin Caldwell.
Slaughter City plays July 21 – August 7, 2016, Thursday-Saturday, 8 pm, Sunday, 2 pm at Stanford's Nitery Theater.
