This year, GLIDE will be honoring Olympic and World Figure Skating Champion Kristi Yamaguchi with the Janice Mirikitani Legacy Award. The GLIDE Legacy Committee was established in 2009 by a group of young professionals who recognized an opportunity to spread the message and mission of GLIDE to their communities. About Kristi Yamaguchi
Both on and off the ice, Kristi Yamaguchi has been an inspiration to millions of fans around the world for her athletic achievements and continually giving back to the community. As an athlete, artist, author, wife, mother and philanthropist, Kristi embodies the word “champion”. Her motto is "Always Dream," and Kristi's accomplishments prove that dreams can come true with hard work and dedication. Following her victory at the 1992 Winter Olympics, Kristi founded the Always Dream Foundation to support the lives of children through educational and recreational initiatives. For almost 20 years, Kristi has championed the Always Dream Foundation, continuing to inspire children and supporting the local community.
About Chip Conley
The founder and former CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, Chip Conley began reinventing hotels in San Francisco at age 26. His first — the Tenderloin’s iconic Phoenix Hotel — turned into the 2nd largest boutique hotel brand in America. The author of four books, including PEAK and The New York Times bestseller, EMOTIONAL EQUATIONS, Chip shares his theories on transformation and meaning with audiences around the world.
