Description
In Six-Pack, L.A. artist/architect Christopher Tallon installs a fleet of super-real, life-size sculptures of the venerable bench press, except these muscle blasters are made entirely of paper. The installation, which includes faux mirrors and makes reference to other appurtenances of America’s version of the sweat lodge, is a wry meditation on uniformity, narcissism, masculinity and hard-edge sculpture of the 60s and 70s.

In the project room, Mark Morris will continue to sift through the scrap heap of junkyard television with his ongoing performance Hardcore Psycho Workout. Morris will set up an actual weight room and conduct regular workouts to his own videos, in which he plays both drill sargeant and willing trainee, muscle machine salesman and satisfied customer.
