In May of 2010, Kat Downs and Mike Thompson teamed up to experiment with the combination of classical piano and rock drumming. Described as “The Dresden Dolls mixed with Muse and PJ Harvey," their music also reflects evidence of Zeppelin, Beethoven, Rush and Rachmaninoff. Kat Downs’ ornate hands and hair flying matched with Mike Thompson’s percussive mastery makes this duo the consummate definition of a “dream-team." No holds barred, this group produces addictive rock n' roll - with only two people and not one guitar in sight.
Wyland
Sometimes inevitability dictates the roads we take, leading us to fateful coincidences, Craigslist ads, and a little bit of blind luck. That's exactly how four-piece Wyland came to be. Marrying atmosphere rock with a modern pop sensibility and traditional strings and piano, Wyland skillfully crafts tunes that show appreciation for both the present and the past. The band has appeared alongside quite an impressive roster, including Mumford & Sons, Alabama Shakes, and the Vaccines, to name a few. The up-and-coming quartet has received much praise from publications like The Jersey Journal, PopMatters, The Deli and All Things Go. CMJ stated, "Wyland has an instantly digestible sound."

"Diminutive in stature, Gargantuan in spirit." Mayya was born in Russia, grew up in the TL in SF. She is inspired by David Bowie, Gogol Bordello, Iggy Pop, Funk Music, George Harrison, pretty much anything w/ energy and good melodies... and anyone who is unapologetically themselves! She has a band called Mayya & The Revolutionary Hell Yeah!
