Twelve African-American Winemakers unite for Sips With Soul, an evening of wine and food, at San Francisco’s 1300 on Fillmore on Tuesday, February 10, from 5:30-8:30 pm.
While there are more than 6,000 wineries in the US, only a handful are owned by African Americans. 1300 on Fillmore hosts this annual event that brings almost all of the US’s African American winemakers, growers and winery owners together at a single location to showcase their award-winning wines and inform the public about their contributions to the wine industry. Winemakers from Black Coyote, Brown Estate, Esterlina, Vision Cellars, to name a few, join 1300’s owners Executive Chef David Lawrence and his wife, Monetta White at this event, now in its 2nd year. Chef Lawrence will prepare hors d'oeuvres to complement the wines at each of the tasting stations.
Each of the wineries will have owners or winemakers on hand to discuss their craft.
For information call the restaurant at 415-771-7100.
