The Silicon Valley Symphony, conducted by Maestro Michael Paul Gibson, is proud to present its season opener “Liszt of Favorites.” The program begins with Mozart's groundbreaking and much‑loved double concerto Sinfonia Concertante, featuring soloists Julian Brown, Concertmaster of SVS on violin, and Evan Buttemer, recent outstanding graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music on viola. Also included are Franz Liszt's tempestuous Les Préludes, and Antonin Dvorak's stirring, yet lyrical Symphony No. 8. In addition, in what will be a fun treat for all, Maestro Gibson will give a mini conducting lesson and select several children from the audience to conduct the orchestra in the rousing finale of Rossini’s William Tell Overture.
