We will be spelling out with our bodies an enormous message communicating that Trump simply has to go -- now! A photographer and videographer will record the message from high above (the results may look similar to the above event, which took place during the Bush-Cheney administration) and photos and video should be in worldwide circulation by mid-afternoon.
Please arrive by 10:30. The message (it is not yet finalized, and is always in flux -- until it isn’t) will have already been etched into the sand (possibly wet – please bring a blanket or tarp to lie on). The helicopter is scheduled to arrive overhead at noon sharp. As soon as the onboard camera crew signals their satisfaction, we will all move to the waterline and form a chain stretching down the beach, holding hands (this, too, will be filmed from above). The event should be completed by 12:30 p.m.
Since 2007, I (me, the organizer, Brad Newsham, proud citizen of the great city of Oakland, California) have hosted a dozen similar events. Altogether, several thousand people took part, and those who did will never forget. The mood at each was peaceful and celebratory and fun — a gathering of the tribe. The mood at the recent Women’s Marches (at least the Women’s March in Oakland) felt similar.
