Description

The San Francisco Symphony’s Opening Gala kicks off the Bay Area’s fall arts season every year and 2006 is no exception. On Wednesday, September 6 Michael Tilson Thomas and the SFS perform with a guest appearance by violinist Christian Tetzlaff who will perform Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto in D major. A native of Germany, violinist Tetzlaff was named Instrumentalist of the Year 2005 by Musical America and has been aptly described as “brilliant and inquisitive” by The New York Times. The San Francisco Symphony’s Opening Gala once again reminds us of the high standards for excellence in the arts performed throughout our community all season long.
