The Center for Asian American Media kicks off the 30th Anniversary of the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (Mar 8-18, 2012) with a launch party on Thursday, February 9, 2012! Celebrate the official launch of the Festival at 111 Minna Gallery - come out, pick up your hot-off-the-press Festival Program Guide, and enjoy some of the Bay Area's hottest DJs. Doors open at 8pm.
The SFIAAFF is the largest and most prestigious showcase for new Asian American and Asian films in North America, annually presenting over 100 works in San Francisco, Berkeley and San Jose. SFIAAFF also features the best in Asian American music and digital and interactive media. Since 1982, the SFIAAFF has been an important launching point for Asian American independent filmmakers as well as a vital source for new Asian cinema.The exciting 30th anniversary Festival program celebrates the past, present, and future - not only honoring pioneers in Asian and Asian American media-making, but also new directions in digital and interactive media, sound and youth culture, and gaming.
