SF Hosts "City Skyline Challenge" - Toss Your Boss!

Local celebrities, politicians and nearly one hundred San Franciscans will rappel free-hanging 230 feet from the roof of the Hyatt Regency San Francisco at 5 Embarcadero Center on Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28 to help expand outdoor learning opportunities for low-income students throughout California. The high perceived risk of this very safe activity will give brave San Franciscans a mental and physical challenge that they’ll be sure to remember for years to come!

The first annual Outward Bound California City Skyline Challenge is bringing the thrills of mountaineering and the power of experiential learning to the Bay with a chance for corporate teams, businesses and individuals to go over the edge of one of the tallest buildings on the San Francisco Skyline. Experience for yourself how Outward Bound uses challenge to teach young people self-confidence, courage and resilience. Rappel yourself, with your team, or “Toss Your Boss” with the goal of raising more than $250K for the organization known across the country for teaching people that they can achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Outward Bound California’s City Skyline Challenge, operated in partnership with Over the Edge USA, is sponsored by: Planet Granite, Wells Fargo, The Hyatt Regency, 7x7 Magazine, Aspiriant, St. Francis Foundation and Fort Point Capital Partners with in-kind support from Clif Bar, Osprey, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Mountain Hardwear, Sports Basement and Zozi.com.

Individuals and companies can sign up to rappel in the following categories:
Individual Rappeller: give or raise $1,500+ to go over the edge
Toss Your Boss: raise $2,500+ as a team to send your boss over the edge
Expedition Sponsor: $5,000
Peak Sponsor: $10,000
Summit Sponsor: $25,000
Presenting Sponsor: $35,000

VIP & Media Rappel Day: Thursday, March 27, 1pm-4pm
City Rappel Day: Friday, March 28, 9am-5pm

Where: Hyatt Regency at 5 Embarcadero Center
• Rappellers and media will be registering in the main lobby of the Hyatt and will be escorted to the roof
• Rappelling will be off the South West corner of the building landing on the sidewalk directly off Market Street
• We have media harnesses available for getting shots over the edge and limited space for media to rappel on March 27th

Media Rappel Day: Thursday, March 27, 1pm-4pm

Outward Bound California has reserved spots for camera crews and radio outlets to live broadcast as they rappel themselves! Space is limited (5 spots left!) and will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
