These concerts commemorate the 100th anniversary of Scriabin's death and present his entire sonata cycle by date of composition in order to show the extraordinary development of Scriabin's compositional style. Program three presents the Piano Sonatas No.’s 6, 7 (White Mass), & 9 (Black Mass), as well as a mixture of early and late works which often display Scriabin’s reverence for the music of his idol, Chopin. These include the 24 Preludes, Op. 11, selected etudes, and shorter works.
