Howard Wiley is a young lion with an old-school sensibility, and has a rep in local music circles as the hardest bopster around. The Berkeley-born saxophonist wouldn't have seemed out of place in the Bay Area's thriving jazz and blues scene of the '40s and '50s, Wiley still plays it the old-fashioned way: straight up, no chaser. Make no mistake, Wiley is one heavy cat.
Singer/Songwriter, Kimiko Joy, captures a myriad of influences in her songs. From Blues and Jazz to R&B and Soul to Reggae and traditional classical Indian, Joy’s vocal stylings combine passionate, heartfelt melodies with powerful poetry. “Music is a parallel dimension that can express the language of the soul. My job is to translate.”
