The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) announced the return this summer of its wildly popular and unique free series Saturdays Unplugged at the JCCSF. Families and friends can enjoy live music, sample cocktails alongside happy hour specials, and engage in hands-on activities with the kids happily alongside. The series honors Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, and invites the community to take a rest from busy routines and unplug to reconnect in the community. Saturdays Unplugged at the JCCSF will be held on June 18, July 9, and July 23 starting at 3 p.m., and is free to the public.
The JCCSF welcomes the eight-man funk monstrosity !Tang on Saturday, July 23. !Tang was born of the Cal marching band in the fall of 1994. They celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut release "How do you take it?" this July. !Tang fuses funk, rock, jazz, hip hop & r&b into a mesmerizing indie-soul shakedown party, reminiscent of Earth Wind and Fire, Sly and the Family Stone, Spearhead & A Tribe Called Quest. Winners of the 1997 Best Funk Band Wammy, !Tang has performed at the Viper Room and Troubadour in Los Angeles, and here in the city at the Fillmore and Candlestick Park.
