The JCCSF welcomes SHAMATi, a band dubbed "Jewgrass" for its Americana sound highlighted by the fiddle and its use of traditional Jewish texts. SHAMATi was literally built to make the party dance. The band is led by friends Isaac Zones and Nathaniel Markman who met while song leading at Camp Tawonga in Yosemite. Taking the magic they discovered out among the tall trees they have added expert players at every instrument. The group prides itself on blending folk, bluegrass, funk, pop and even Latin influences with the lone rule that the music must move the crowd on the dance floor.
