In connection with the two concurrent solo exhibitions "Sarah Bird: the fullest measure of you, is you" and "Lewis deSoto: ARBOR/ARDOR", join us on Thursday, February 2 from 6-7:30pm for an Exhibition Preview and Artist Talk with exhibiting artists Sarah Bird and Lewis deSoto. The conversation will be moderated by Lucía Sanromán, Visual Arts Director, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Now based in New York, Bird studied with deSoto among others while attending graduate school at California College of the Arts in the early 1990s. The two exhibitions reveal the artists’ overlapping areas of enquiry. Photographic, video, sculptural, and mixed media works present personal and intimate visions of the landscape, and of trees in particular.
