Taiko drums, which have been around in Japan for over 1,000 years, have a unique sound to them. Depending on how they are played, they can sound intimidating like there's war on the horizon. They can be relaxing, with the every beat creating more of a dream like trance. Either way, the diligence that it takes to play these drums with an ensemble will be showcased when San Jose Taiko plays their 40th Anniversary Concert at the Center for Performing Arts in Downtown San Jose.
