Thur-Fri, Jan 15-16, 2015, 7:30pm
Wendy Whelan, the internationally celebrated dancer whom The New York Times called "America's greatest ballerina" will be making her San Francisco debut.
Her interest in continuing to dance after her thirty-year career with New York City Ballet, propelled her to develop "Restless Creature" which is a suite of four duets created for Whelan by - and danced with - some of today's most exciting young choreographers: Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo.
This will be Whelans' first time dancing on a San Francisco Stage and the first stop on her 2015 tour of "Restless Creature."
