San Francisco State Apparel Design & Merchandising Students Present Runway 2013: Ignite.
San Francisco, CA. - March 20, 2013. What ignites your inspiration? Mark your calendars for a night of fashion brought to you by San Francisco's best up-and-coming designers, as the Apparel Design & Merchandising students of San Francisco State University showcase their work at Runway 2013: Ignite. Each piece headed down the runway is sure to ignite a spark of passion for design in everyone. Don't miss this unforgettable experience of more then 200 fresh and innovative designs!
The Apparel Design & Merchandising Students, in collaboration with students from the Broadcast & Electronic Communications Art, and Design and Industry programs at San Francisco State University are ecstatic to announce the fourteenth annual student fashion show, Runway 2013: Ignite. Kayla Odwald, Runway 2013: Ignite show director and president of the Fashion Network Association states, "Our mission is to ignite a spark of inspiration in our audience through the designs that go down the runway, leaving them with the desire to see more."
Incorporated into the individual looks and lines, this runway show will further present reconstructed and up-cycled designs from clothing donated from Goodwill Industries, San Francisco, and discarded tablecloths from the San Francisco Hotel Industry. Through this experience, emerging designers make a statement on the problem of over-consumption within the fashion industry and a sustainable solution to the excess waste created through the production and purchase of apparel and textiles.
The event takes place Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Galleria San Francisco Design Center, 101 Henry Adams Street. Doors open at 6:30 pm, the show begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets for Runway 2013: Ignite may be purchased at runway2013ignite.eventbrite.com. Seating is limited, premiere front row seats are $35 the remainder at 25.00, and standing tickets are $15. The Fashion Network Association is a proud sponsor of the annual spring Runway show - an organization dedicated to creating a platform for students to gain fashion industry knowledge through creating, producing, and promoting fashion events and publications.
