Class participants will join in on a lovely walk through Joan's Atherton garden followed by flower arranging demonstration using Joan's beautiful flowers.
Joan Sanders has lived in this area since 1970. She studied flower arranging with Virginia Farewell for 25 years. Ms. Farewell focused on using flowers and other seasonal materials from one's own garden. In 1997 Joan was instrumental in the start of the Floral Design program at Filoli and the hiring of Ann Patrick to teach the classes there. She has served on the Floral Design Committee at Filoli for many years, helping to create beautiful arrangements.
