Rose Windows (Seattle), Low Hums

Tue Mar 5, 2013
Hemlock Tavern

Rose Windows is a group of friends, as well as a 7 piece ensemble that operates under the influence of Chris Cheveyo and Rabia Qazi. After the initial light is received by Chris and Rabia, it is then concentrated through the kaleidoscope of Nils, David, Pat, Duke, and Veronica. Our musical influences are many but can be aurally traced back to: Sun City Girls, Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, Tinariwen, Erkin Koray, Tom Waits, Earth, and just about every measure of delta blues.

Hello , We’re LOW HUMS… from Seattle. This is Jonas here .. going to say a few words about the band. In addition to myself, we’ve got Bill Patton, Mike Bayer, Heather Cowan, and Miles Panto.

LOW HUMS began during the winter months of 2007. A wood fire burning, red wine, and a wakefulness to the natural environment around .. developed into trance-inducing sound.

Wrote songs on ferry boats.
Wrote songs in cars.
Wrote songs in woods.
Wrote songs when I couldn’t sleep.

Took lots of walks.
Swam everywhere and anywhere possible, as often as possible.
Toured all over the world in our friends bands.
Collected rocks, and bones.. Found a fox skull.
