On Saturday, July 23rd, Root & Rebound (www.rootandrebound.org) is throwing our second annual Summer Benefit to celebrate and raise funds to sustain our work innovating, creating, and collaborating for everyone's right to a second chance. The night at local art gallery and event space, Oakstop in downtown Oakland will be filled with delicious food by The Town Kitchen, local beer and wine, live music from young performers from RYSE in Richmond, spoken word poetry, and an auction.
Root & Rebound is a nonprofit legal advocacy center based in Oakland, CA whose mission is to reduce barriers to opportunity for people returning home from prison and jail. With three key programs, direct legal services with social services support, legal & community education, and high-impact policy advocacy, Root & Rebound has a statewide focus and aims to expand its work across the country. We are hoping to raise the money necessary to expand our publications and education and support our policy reform work.
This gathering will be a time to celebrate Root & Rebound's work-- almost three years now--innovating, creating, and collaborating for everyone's right to a second chance. Tickets are $95 each, and there are also sponsorship options available. You can find more information about the event and tickets here:
