S.F. MIDDLE SCHOOL GETS SUPPORT FROM WINE EXPERTS AND WINERIES
Art+Farm Wine, The Hess Collection, and Wine Expert, Maureen Downey, Participate in Roosevelt Middle School PTSA Fall Fundraiser
The Roosevelt Middle School PTSA announces their first annual Fall Wine Tasting and Silent Auction on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Presidio Sports Basement from 6:00 P.M - 9:00 P.M.
Napa Valley's Art+Farm Wine will be pouring tastings of 10 wines throughout the evening, including The Girls in the Vineyard, Cicadia, Messenger and D’Anneo. All wines will be available for purchase by the case, half case and bottle at the time of checkout. The philanthropic philosophy of Art+Farm Wine means a generous portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Roosevelt PTSA and used to fund important student programs at the school.
Art+Farm Wine has contributed to over 100 non-profits and schools since 2005 including Lick-Wilmerding School, San Francisco CA; The Branson School, Ross, CA; Medecins Sans Frontieres USA, New York, NY; Fordham University, NY, NY and KALW 91.7 FM, San Francisco, CA, to name a few.
Fundraiser guests will also have the opportunity to bid on a small number of wine focused lots during the Silent Auction. Among the items offered for bid are a private VIP tour and wine country luncheon for four (4) individuals provided by The Hess Collection in Napa Valley, a 4th generation boutique winery with one of the largest private modern art collection in the world. Also up for bid is a private 4-hour wine consultation by wine specialist Maureen Downey, DWS, CWE, FWS. Founder of Chai Consulting, Ms. Downey is an expert in fine and rare wine appraisal, authentication and valuation. Whether just starting a personal wine collection or an avid aficionado, Ms. Downey’s vast expertise in the curation and management of inventory along with her keen perception of the investment and financial trends in viticulture would be invaluable.
Additional auction items include "A Night Out" package with dinner and tickets to San Francisco beloved and longest running musical, Beach Blanket Babylon in North Beach; wine packages and tours from Napa, Sonoma, Russian River and Anderson Valley wineries including, Gunlach Bundschu, Viansa and Philo Ridge wineries; a San Francisco 49er's autographed football; and a selection of City restaurant favorites like Scoma’s, One Market and Foreign Cinema.
