What:
Over 17,000 runners will hit the pavement at the 11th annual Rock ‘n’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, Oct. 2 and the 5K presented by Brooks on Saturday, Oct. 1. The event is known for placing more cheer squads than any Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and live bands along the course to entertain runners as they make their way to the finish line in downtown San Jose.
Runners will start at W. Santa Clara St. and Almaden Blvd. and tour the sights of the Bay Area city. The half marathon course will run past City Hall, through Japantown, out and back on The Alameda and through the Rose Garden neighborhood. The event comes to an exciting and scenic finish at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez in downtown San Jose. Former San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl champion and race co-founder Roger Craig will run both days to complete the Remix Challenge.
Returning this year, children 12 & under can participate in the excitement of race weekend by completing the KiDS ROCK San Jose fun run on Saturday, Oct. 1. A Toddler Trot and Diaper Dash will also take place for those limited to crawling.
