Description
We see in Robert Ogata's style a surprisingly fluid metamorphosis born of an insatiable appetite for exploration and refinement. These scrambled, painterly passages detour into more or less descriptive elements, giving a sense of ambiguity and surprise (fragments of memories, or perhaps of dreams).
This exhibition is a Micro-Survey of the artist's work from 1990 to recent paintings.
Born in Anaheim, Calif in 1936, Robert is a third generation Japanese-American.
He has lived and worked in Fresno, Calif since the 1970's. His work has been widely shown in California including a recent solo exhibition at the Fresno Art Museum.
