The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) operates the Robert Livermore Community Center, which held its grand opening in spring 2005. The center serves as the Livermore area's recreation destination. The complex offers 71,000-square-feet of indoor space with the Community Building and the Recreation Building, plus a 45,000-square-foot Aquatics Center.
The state-of-the-art Recreation Building houses the Elbow Room, drop-in gym activities and preschool. Parents can rent the Fiesta Room, Elbow Room, Cafe Patio, Poppy Room or gymnasium for children’s parties, which can include swimming, dancing or fun in the gym and a room for cake and presents. Themed party packages are available for pirate, princess and "Amazing Race" fans. The Recreation Building also features a maple wood sprung-floor studio with ballet bars and mirrored walls for dance and exercise. The gymnasium also hosts adult sports leagues as well as youth sports camps and classes.
