Maestro Joel Revzen leads the Festival Orchestra NAPA – a sterling ensemble comprising musicians from the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and other top international orchestras – in a rich all-American program. Tonight's concert features two twentieth century masterpieces: Copland's stirring Lincoln Portrait, narrated with excerpts from Abraham Lincoln's writings, and Gershwin's jazz-fueled Rhapsody in Blue. The concert also features three very special guests: virtuoso Cuban pianist Aldo López-Gavilán who makes his US Orchestra debut; celebrated American soprano Kathleen Battle; and actor Chris Noth, famed for his roles on Sex and the City, Law & Order and The Good Wife, who returns to the festival to narrate.
