CLOVIS (Lessizmore, Culprit / LA)

Clovis has been a key purveyor of forward thinking dance music in Los Angeles, California for the past 7 years. A native of the city, he is youngest in the crew at Culprit Records, the LA based label formed and operated by longtime friends Droog. A specialist in after hours, post sunrise affairs and opening sets, he generally enjoys more slow burning house, techno and disco, music that is both cerebral yet firmly rooted in groove. He has opened for and played alongside such talents as Magda, Matthew Dear, Visionquest, Three, Matt Tolfrey, Radio Slave, Lee Burridge and a host others, many while holding it down in the early hours of Culprit’s legendary parties at The Standard rooftop in downtown LA during the summer months, and in fine clubs throughout the US and Mexico.
In 2010 his first production work saw the light of day, with remixes released on Culprit and Adjunct Audio, followed by original works on both of the aforementioned label’s various artists compilations in 2011. His 2011 original work “The Jean Seberg Special” opened Culprit’s “Above The City” compilation, introducing his personal fusion of jazz and house music to the world.
In the later half of 2012 he took his talents across the Atlantic, playing at vaunted clubs like Fuse in Brussels, Chalet in Berlin and even going as far as Tel Aviv, Israel. After releasing on Brussels based Lessizmore records’ anniversary compilation alongside Dop, Tolga Fidan, DeWalta and others, expect to see debut EPs currently in the pipeline seeing light of day in fine record stores come 2013…
