THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
Inspired from an early age by the old blues masters, the young prodigy Blues guitarist Ray Goren delivers his own unique high energy blues/Rock that takes the listener through a musical and emotional journey. His soulful R&B infused vocals and soul piercing guitar work will make you lose yourself in the music and get away for a while from the daily toil --- exactly what blues was designed to do. While paying homage to the music of his Chicago-based idols such as Freddie King, Albert King and Luther Allison to name just a few, Ray's music has evolved, combining Chicago blues with the electrifying energy of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Hendrix, with unexpected creativity and modern rock elements. This combination of elements had helped Ray create his own unique sound. Ray's music is the natural evolution of the blues-rock. It is first and foremost inspired by feel, each song will be different based on the interaction with the audience and the feel of the moment. The show will leave you feeling like you have just witnessed a remarkable moment and experienced and emotional catharsis that will stay with you.

Hailed by music critics as a must-see explosive performer, Ray Goren’s “Save My Soul” EP released last winter has been on the Root’s charts for four months now, peaking at number 13 on list of Contemporary Blues Albums. At the same time Ray and his original music were featured on the home page of Guitar World on June 23, 2014. Not bad for a young artist who is self-releasing.

Rather than boasting, it is best to let the critics tell us in their own voice about Ray: Chicago Sun Times music critic Thomas Conner wrote after Ray’s performance on the main stage at opening night of the 2013 Chicago Blues Festival “Ray Goren stepped up Thursday night and ripped out a guitar solo that would have made some hairs fall out of Stevie Ray Vaughan's soul patch.

After seeing Ray open for BB King in Monterey, reviewer Jason Debord wrote on Rocksubculture.com:
Ray is a real phenomenon, and you sit there not believing what you are seeing and hearing… It was really one of the most unbelievable moments I’ve experienced at any concert. Amazing.”

Renowned Chicago Tribune music critic Howard Reich:
“No one rattles the place like Ray Goren, from the Los Angeles area. He plays electric guitar — and sings — with a fluency, ease and depth of expression that defy easy explanation”.

Music Critic Dean Blackstone recently wrote that “Ray is simply electrifying…. he is not just another SRV or Hendrix imitator, he has developed his own firey guitar style and voice….catch him at the clubs while you can because large venues are coming his way.”

But it is not just about the live performances, Ray’s original music has received significant praise and AXs Entertainment music review hailed Ray Goren as one of the ten best independent artists of summer of 2014 while Pop Dose picked Ray’s EP as one of the top ten ”steller standouts… of the hundreds of EPs that have landed on my desk as of late…”

It is no wonder that among Ray’s fans and supporters are some of the biggest names in music such as Hall of Famers Robby Krieger and Leon Russell as well as the acclaimed Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, Kiss) and famed drummer producer Steve Jordan (John Mayer, Robert Cray, Boz Scaggs).
Come see for yourself. A listen is worth a thousand words.
