Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein formed RAWdance to expose the intimate core of our relationships and identities. The company makes technical, athletic works driven by human interactions and presents them in unexpected public spaces as well as the theater. RAWdance was awarded a 2014 SF Bay Guardian Goldie Award for its contribution to San Francisco arts, and has performed in Singapore, Chicago, Providence, Washington DC, New York City and throughout the SF Bay Area.
The 2014 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2013 Season at Yerba Buena Gardens in downtown San Francisco runs May 4 through October 26, 2014 and presents over 90 free events including music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, festivals and children’s programs with artists from Africa, Japan, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, the Philippines, Sweden, China, Venezuela and the Bay Area. This year’s Festival features events at Jessie Square with poetry, dance workshops and salsa dancing. Yerba Buena Gardens is located between Mission Street and Howard Street and 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown San Francisco.
