New Mexico native turned New Yorker, guitarist Raul Midón brings more than just his six-string skills to Kuumbwa. He also comes equipped with a soulful tenor voice and improvisational mouth ‘horn’ technique in which he mimics trumpet lines. His work with Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, and Peter Gabriel has exposed Midón to a wide audience, enthralled by his mash up of soul, pop, jazz, folk, and Latin elements. Midón has just released Invisible Chains, which was recorded live at Joe’s Pub in Manhattan.
