Raise a Fork, Build a Garden promises to be a festive evening of music and dinner to support a community garden project at St. Vincent de Paul's community center for homeless and low-income residents in Downtown Oakland. Chef Lee Davidson is partnering with Imperfect Produce and Vegetarian Gourmet Catering to showcase recipes from Biapasta and Oaktown spice. The meal will be made by students enrolled in St. Vincent de Paul's Kitchen of Champions, a 12-week culinary training program for low-income and disenfranchised individuals, many of whom were formerly incarcerated.
The Creak, a five-piece string band from Oakland, will also be playing live all throughout the evening.
