Description

Labayen Dance/SF in cooperation with Dance Mission Theatre’s Down and Dirty Series presents “QUIRK” an evening of world premieres by multi-award winning choreographer, Enrico Labayen. The world premiere works are “Quirk” set to the music of Sirakiz’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra; “Night Clouds” by composer Charles Valentin Alkan; “44” to Bela Bartok’s Duos for Two Violins and “Raga” music by Ram Narayan plus the return of “Cloth”, an Isadora Duncan Awardee for Outstanding Achievement in Choreography on January 22-24, 2010 at Dance Mission Theatre in San Francisco.
Labayen Dance/SF is a celebrated contemporary ballet company that has been guided for 16 years by its uniquely global artistic vision. Collaborating with noted composers, musicians, and visual artists, Enrico Labayen creates works that draw on a diverse set of deeply rooted cultural traditions and imbue classical ballet with new expressive potential.
