Experience the ecstatic high-energy happening-style of the Beats during Quiet Lightning’s Allen
Ginsberg-inspired literary performance at the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Started in 2009, Quiet
Lightning has fast become one of San Francisco’s most popular literary events.

This special Neighborhood Heroes reading honors exceptional members of the Bay Area literary
world. Authors include: Pulitzer Prize winner Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Pushcart Prize winner
Susan Steinberg (Hydroplane), former Fulbright scholar Michael David Lukas (The Oracle of Stamboul)
, Lambda Literary Award winner Kevin Killian (Impossible Princess), novelist Glen David Gold (Carter
