Quench
The funk-driven rhythms of Quench emerged when band members Phil Remer (guitar), Andy Levine (bass), Alex Goff (drums), and Jonathan Lancaster (tenor and alto sax) reunited in 2015 in San Francisco. Inspiration from new school players like Lettuce and Galactic blends under the influence of pioneering legends like The JBs and The Meters to create the basis for Quench's mosaic of solid sound. Nobody wants to hear the same four chords anymore. Take a dip in the pool of timeless funk. Drink in the gritty, fluid compositions. Get your harmony restored.
Bdubs and the Playas
Bdubs & the Players featuring Marcus Scott, is the brain child of guitarist/songwriter Bryan Wienberg (King Pablos, Sans Pablo, Lizzo). This San Francisco-based funk/soul/rock act features bassist, Phil Peterson (King Pablos, Grandpa Paws, Hot Dog Day, Pollo Infermo), drummer, Brad Hamblin (Burlingamblers, Quench, Project Q), keyboardist, Daniel “Goose” Elfving” (Burlingamblers, Quench), saxophonist, Bill Sparks (King Pablos, Sans Pablo), and vocalist/front-man-extraordinar, Marcus Scott (Marcus Scott Band, Monophonics).
Formed in late 2014 around a common love for vintage funk and soul, the band is quickly building a reputation as one of the Bay Area’s must-see live acts. With an eclectic sound drawing heavily from the funk and soul of the late 1960’s and 1970s, the band’s live shows never fail to feature a healthy mix of original material, instrumentals and obscure covers. This up-and-coming funk powerhouse is known to keep its sound fresh by calling on a revolving door of friends and special guests who happen to be some of the finest musicians in the Bay Area.
