NYC-based Que(e)ry is a dance party for queer librarians and those who love them, coming to San Francisco in conjunction, but unofficially affiliated with, the American Library Association Annual Conference 2015. Que(e)ry’s sponsor, EveryLibrary, is the first and only national organization dedicated exclusively to political action at a local level to create, renew, and protect public funding for libraries of all types. Que(e)ry will kick off on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at The Make Out Room from 8 pm (doors at 6pm) until closing. The Make Out Room is located at 3225 22nd Street and Mission, in the Mission District in San Francisco. Que(e)ry will feature queer DJs and queer raffle prizes. DJ Rapid Fire is cofounder of the notorious SF queer dance party Stay Gold, as well as founder of the successful Bay Area collective The House of Babes. DJ Chelsea Starr straddles Portland, OR and San Francisco as a dancer, DJ extraordinaire and designer. Special appearance by DJ Marc Records, who is JP Porcaro, the founder of the ALA Think Tank, rabble rouser who inspires librarians to #makeithappen and #partyhard. All proceeds from the party will benefit The GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco.
