PURPLE DISCO MACHINE

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Harlot (see times)
International DJ, producer and remixer Tino Piontek aka Purple Disco Machine has been on a whirlwind of a musical journey since the conception of his Deep Funk branded House music project in 2009. The Dresden-born Deep Funk innovator has racked up numerous achievements, although it was his 2013 breakthrough hit ‘My House’, on OFF Recordings, that really propelled PDM onto new heights; landing the No.1 Spot within Beatport’s Deep House chart and, at its peak, No.3 overall.
The success of ‘My House’ didn’t just stop there as one whole year later the track was still in Beatport’s Deep House Top 100 chart and consequently acquired the prestigious accolade of becoming one of the online retailer’s best selling tracks EVER. With stats like this, it’s no wonder why the A&R reps from, record industry giant, Sony have been knocking on Tino’s door and are now looking to storm the charts with their re-release version, ‘Devil In Me / My House’ Ft. Duane Harden, this winter / early 2015.
Proving he’s no one-hit-wonder, the German native recreated his previous chart domination with his 2014 summer anthem ‘The Path’. A track that was released by Coyu’s revered Spanish imprint Suara and saw him collaborate, for the third time, with fellow countryman Teenage Mutants to go straight in at No.1 on Beatport’s Deep House chart, stay within their overall Top 10 for months and become one of 2014’s biggest and most Shazamed tracks. Again, Sony liked what they heard and came calling. However, it’s important to mention that Purple Disco Machine’s impressive Deep Funk grooves might not have even existed if it wasn’t for his father introducing him, at an early age, to the classic funk sounds of the 70s and 80s. This early exposure had real inoluence on Tino and by the time he was a teenager, he didn’t just want to listen to great music but also play it, produce it and be connected to the scene. ??? Tino says “This was a really important time for me as I managed to land a job at a local record store and gain a DJ residency at my local club in Dresden. Neither job paid me any money but I could have as many vinyls as I wanted from the record shop, so I had more than enough new music to play out on the weekend.”
With a rapidly expanding record collection and a DJ residency on-going, Tino craved to make his own music thus spending many years in the studio honing his sound and releasing tracks via a number of different projects/pseudonyms before giving birth to Purple Disco Machine. Coming back to the music, Purple Disco Machine isn’t just about the big crossover hits that have the talented German labeled as ” the next Duke Dumont or Tensnake” but also about keeping it real on the Deep Funk underground with other notable releases to his name including EPs such as ‘Move or Not’, ‘Funk‘ and ‘Musique’ all on Andre Crom’s Berlin-based OFF Recordings.
Aside from his solo and collaborative work, Tino also holds a mouth-watering remix discography featuring artists such as Harry Romero, Sharam Jey, Dino Lenny, Roland Clark, DJ Pierre and, most recently, the UK No.1 hit by Sigma ft. Paloma Faith ‘Changing’. Many of dance music’s iconic labels have taken note of Tino’s sublime remixing talent and have him now marked as their go-to man, boating future re-rubs for imprints such as FFRR, Toolroom, Ultra, Defected and Ministry of Sound to name a few. Outside the studio, Tino is a very in-demand touring DJ and his schedule has never been busier. Bringing his unparalleled Deep Funk sounds and unique mix of Disco, Nu Disco, Funk, House and Deep House straight to the danceoloor at some of the world’s oinest clubs and events in countries including; UK, USA, Australia, Russia, Germany, Holland, Spain, France plus many more.
With key industry players such as Pete Tong honouring Tino as his BBC Radio 1 ‘Future Star’, a new Purple Disco Tales radio show (oirst Sunday, every 2nd month 21:00-22:00 UTC) on America’s leading Sirius XM satellite network, a jam-packed gigs calendar and a début artist album set to drop in 2015 via OFF Rec. / Sony, Purple Disco Machine is `iring on all cylinders and there’s no sign of him stopping anytime soon.
