Pristine Mind Meditation: Beyond Mindfulness

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at The Pad Studios (see times)
When we experience stress, anxiety, unhappiness or any other form of discomfort, our mind is not in its natural state. By learning how to calm the mind and reconnect with our true nature we can discover the happiness that lies within us and that is, in fact, the very essence of who we are.

In this evening class, local Bay Area meditation master Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche will provide instructions on Mindfulness meditation as well as on how to go beyond mindfulness to journey deep into our Pristine Mind and experience unconditional happiness through Pristine Mind meditation.

The session will include instructions and guided meditation to familiarize us with techniques we can use to help untie the knots of thoughts, emotions, distraction, stress, and anxiety that create discomfort in our minds and conflict in our lives.

By mastering these techniques, we can stabilize a feeling of satisfaction, delight, and security, have the strength and power to deal with whatever challenges we face, and delight in the joys of our life not through insatiable need, but as majestic extensions of our true state of mind.

Beginners welcome. No previous background with meditation is required.

Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche is a meditation master in the Nyingma lineage of the Buddhist tradition. He studied for ten years at Larung Gar in Serta, eastern Tibet, with his teacher, Jigmed Phuntsok Rinpoche, who is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest Dzogchen meditation masters of the twentieth century. Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and is the founder and spiritual director of Pristine Mind Foundation (www.pristinemind.org). He travels throughout the United States and around the world teaching a broad range of audiences, including those at universities, tech companies and yoga studios, how they can improve their lives through meditation. Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche’s first book will be published by Shambhala Publications in early 2016.
