PRISM Series – Eleonor Sandresky's The Wonder Suit Show: A Space Odyssey

SEE EVENT DETAILS
One of New York’s preeminent new music pianists/composers, Eleonor Sandresky brings us the West Coast Premiere of her evening-length work, The Wonder Suit Show: A Space Odyssey, to the Center for New Music for one night only. Originally premiered in the Fall of 2016 in New York, the show uses live piano and recorded space sounds from NASA to transport audiences to outer space, weaving a sonic tale of discovery suspended in time. The performance features Eleonor’s invention – The Wonder Suit – a wearable, remote sensor interface integrating live electronics with the pianist’s movements. The evening will conclude with a PRISM Series audience Q&A focused on the artist’s creative journey towards becoming a ‘choreographic pianist.’
