Allison Arieff is the Editorial Director at SPUR and a contributing columnist at The New York Times since 2006
Allison writes about architecture, design and cities for numerous publications including California Sunday, the MIT Technology Review, Dialogue and CityLab. She is a former editor-at-large for GOOD and Sunset magazines and from 2006–2008 was senior content lead for the global design and innovation firm IDEO. She was editor-in-chief of Dwell (and was the magazine’s founding senior editor) until 2006; Dwell won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence in 2005 under her tenure.

Allison is the author of the books Prefab and Trailer Travel: A Visual History of Mobile America and has contributed to and/or edited numerous books on architecture, design and sustainability including Airstream: The History of the Land Yacht, Hatch Show Print: History of a Great American Poster Shop, Block by Block: Jane Jacobs and the Future of New York and Urban Farms. She lectures and consults regularly on design and media and has been featured on NPR, KQED Forum, the Diane Rehm Show, the Sundance Channel’s Big Ideas for a Small Planet, HGTV and CNN Money, among others. Allison got her start in publishing with stints at Random House, Oxford University Press and Chronicle Books. She has a BA in history, an MA in art history and completed her PhD coursework in American studies at New York University.


Jonathan Ballon is the Vice President in the Internet of Things Group and General Manager of the Markets and Channels Acceleration Divistion at Intel
Jonathan is responsible for managing and driving revenue across a portfolio of growth segments at Intel, while also incubating new sectors and business models. In addition, he is responsible for driving scale across all IoTG segments through various channesl and routes to market.
Prior to joining Intel, Ballon served as chief strategy officer and chief operations officer for General Electric’s Industrial Internet business, and served as corporate vice president at Cisco leading the office of strategy and planning. He presently also serves as an advisor and board member to several Silicon Valley based startups and accelerators.
Ballon holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego, summa cum laude, and an MBA degree in strategic planning and operations management from the University of Pittsburgh.

Clara Brenner is the Co-Founder and CEO of Tumml
Clara is the Co-Founder and CEO of Tumml, a nonprofit with a mission to empower entrepreneurs to solve urban problems. During the last three years, the organization has supported 33 startups, working to solve community issues from homelessness to workforce development for blue-collar workers. Collectively, Tumml graduates have created hundreds of new community jobs and launched products/ services for over 2.3M people. In 2014, Forbes listed her as one of its “30 Under 30” for Social Entrepreneurship. Tumml’s work energizing urban impact entrepreneurship has been featured in numerous publications, including CNN Money, VentureBeat, Bloomberg Business, and the Silicon Valley Business Journal, among others. Clara earned her MBA from MIT Sloan and her BA from NYU. She is a member of the MIT Sloan Alumni Board.

Nils Moe is the Managing Director of the Urban Sustainability Directors Network
Nils currently serves as the Managing Director of the Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN). In this role, Nils oversees the day-to-day operations of this rapidly evolving North American network of over 145 municipal sustainability directors representing more than 80 million people. USDN fosters collaborating on local innovations for sustainability and supports its members who are on the front lines of addressing the issues surrounding climate change. USDN is also home to the Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance - a collaboration of international cities committed to achieving aggressive long-term carbon reduction goals.


William Shutkin, President and CEO of Presidio Graduate School
A renowned social entrepreneur, educator, author and attorney, William is the President and CEO of Presidio Graduate School, where he is also the Richard M. Gray Fellow in Sustainability Practice. The legendary David Brower described him as “an environmental visionary creating solutions to today's problems with a passion that would make John Muir and Martin Luther King equally proud.”
