Pottery Class - Morning Clay and Coffee with Steven

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at SMAart Gallery & Studio (see times)
What a better way to start your day than with a ball of clay in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. We begin with coffee, pastries and introductions. Then Steve or Jessica will demonstrate the art of wheel throwing. A quick demonstration on wedging clay followed by the steps of throwing a cylinder on the potter's wheel. Then each participant gets up to 5, 1-pound balls of clay to try their hand at the potter's wheel. At the end of the 2-hr session, you can stay for a few hours and continue to work on your own. You can keep your new works of art, just choose a glaze color and we will dry and trim your work, fire it, glaze it and re-fire it. When it's ready, Steve will notify you it is ready for pick-up.

Remember to wear some clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring your creative spirit and get ready to play-in-clay.
