The Portola Garden Tour in San Francisco’s Garden District will celebrate their 10th Annual Portola Garden Tour in 2016. The garden tour is a self-guided walk through private and public gardens in the sunny Portola District in San Francisco’s southeastern quadrant. The tour is a fund raising event for the Portola Garden District Scholarship at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) for students in the Environmental Horticulture and Floristry department.
The Portola Garden Tour has awarded 13 scholarships to CCSF students and three work projects in the Portola. The neighborhood, recently officially recognized as the Garden District, is roughly bordered by Silver Avenue to the north, Mansell Street to the south, San Bruno Avenue to the east and McLaren Park to the west.
Last year’s tour was highlighted in the San Francisco Chronicle. This year’s 10th anniversary tour will feature even more secret gardens, amazing views, hidden gems and opportunities to learn about what grows in the Bay Area.
