The âEURoeOnions ObservedâEUR project originated in AlanâEUR(TM)s kitchen, when he was making a pasta sauce that called for half of a yellow onion. The project involved the remaining half of the onion, how it changed over time, and his photographic response to those changes. On a subsequent shopping trip to Costco, Alan purchased a 10-pound bag of yellow onions, which he sliced and photographed for this current exhibit.
Explains McGee: âEURoeThese half onions simply presented against a black background seem, to me, informed with animism âEUR" a primitive world view that non-human entities possess a spiritual or supernatural essence. These onions, over time, took on qualities that catalyzed my imagination. I invite the viewer to join me in this imaginative exploration.âEUR
