Porchlight Storytelling Series hosts a night at The Museum with a theme taken straight from the current exhibition, Jason Lazarus: Live Archive. Participants will tell ten-minute stories riffing off the title of one of Lazarus’ installations Too Hard To Keep. Performers include: Michael Bunin (My Boys), Suzanne Kleid (The Rumpus, McSweeney’s), Brian McMullen (McSweeney’s) and Moon Unit Zappa (“Valley Girl”, America, the Beautiful,).
Michael Bunin is an American actor perhaps best known for playing the role of Kenny on the TBS sitcom My Boys. He has also guest starred on several hit TV shows including Scrubs, C.S.I., Law & Order and Mad Men.
Suzanne Kleid is a bookseller in San Francisco. She has had fiction and nonfiction work published in Bitch Magazine, the Believer, Pindeldyboz, Watchword, and We Still Like.
Brian McMullen is a writer and artist living in Bayview, San Francisco. He is the senior art director and an editor at McSweeney’s, where he directs McSweeney’s McMullens, the company’s children’s book department. A picture book he wrote, Hang Glider & Mud Mask, was recently published to critical acclaim.
Moon Zappa is a writer, actor, and comedian. The eldest child of musician Frank Zappa, she collaborated with her father on the Top 40 hit “Valley Girl” in 1982 and worked as an MTV VJ along with her brother Dweezil. Over the years she has appeared in many commercial and independent films, various television shows, and has written a novel and numerous magazine articles.
