SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Open Studios (see times)
Some members of the Burlingame Art Society will hold a Peninsula Artists’ Open Studios to bring together interested patrons and supporters of fine art. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Work from local artists Carmel Adams, Doug Bell, Diana Day-Glynn, Carol Engelbrecht, Lynne Flodin, Jackie Gray, Pat Knowles, Ellen Lee, Pat McMorrow, Leona Moriarty, Rose Nieponice, Olga Parr, Susan Pizzi, Sally Rayn and Nancy Stirm will be displayed in Burlingame and San Mateo. The arts represented include painting, mixed media and photography.

Studio Host Lynne Flodin says about her work, “I am inspired by light, how it plays on the surface of objects, such as: a glint in someone's eye, a sparkle on a dew drop, the sheen on satin, the rays of morning light filtering in trees and the contrast of light with shadows. There is an emotional response which I try to capture and convey to others."

Studios are hosted in the homes of:
Lynne Flodin, 1404 Balboa Avenue, Burlingame;
Leona Moriarty, 1132 Cortez Avenue, Burlingame;
Susan Pizzi, 121 Warren Road, San Mateo.

About Burlingame Art Society (BAS)
Burlingame Art Society (BAS) was organized in 1957 by a group of artists who wanted to practice the principles of traditional art in our present-day world. Membership includes men and women actively participating in the pursuit of quality visual arts, while providing friendly relationships with other artists. Among members are art teachers and talented artists, as well as those who are genuinely interested in a learning experience. BAS consists of artists with the purpose of promoting art, and the appreciation of art, in our community. Efforts are not only directed to adults, but also to encourage young people to participate in our local community programs. BAS meets the first Wednesday of the month from September – June from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Lions Club Hall, 990 Burlingame Ave., Burlingame, CA 94010. Beginners are welcome. For more information about BAS, visit http://www.burlingameartsociety.org.
