In celebration of our theater company's 20th year anniversary, Chicano Theatreworks proudly presents "Particulate", a new play by Manuel Montez. This powerful drama takes place over the the course of 3 days in a west coast city. Caleb (early 40s), a photographer, is preparing an exhibit of his latest work. He's been working with Nina, a 15 year old model. They've begun to fall in love. He's in a relationship with Roxy, her mother and a escort. She's also in an intimate with Silas, a pimp/strip club owner and Jerome, a corrupt detective. Roxy owes a substantial debt to Silas. As a way of canceling her debt and getting rid of Nina, her romantic rival, she proposes to turn her over to Silas. The play explores forbidden love, the power dynamic between men & women, sexual jealousy, a mother-daughter relationship and psychic fracture. This work contains adult subject matter.
