Palio d'Asti Hosts Month-Long White Truffles Celebration
Plus An All-Truffle Prix Fixe Menu Available This Week Only
No one serves up Italian white truffles like San Francisco dining favorite Palio d’Asti ( https://www.paliodasti.com). Since 1990, savvy diners have looked to this downtown financial district destination to savor this seasonal culinary treat, the best of which are found by small dogs in the Piemonte region of Italy and can cost $2,000 a pound. While the season lasts, these aromatic delicacies are offered as a part of Palio’s daily specials at lunch and dinner; as well as being available for addition to any dish upon request.
In addition, Palio is featuring an All-Truffle Prix Fixe Menu now through Saturday, November 15 with 6 courses offered at $115.00 per person. Wine pairings chosen by co-owner and general manager Martino DiGrande from the restaurant’s Wine Spectator award winning list are available for an additional $55.00.
“Italian white truffles are one of the world’s top delicacies and only available for a limited window in the fall. Based on supply, we expect to serve them throughout November ,” explains Palio’s owner Martino DiGrande. “They enhance any dish and especially complement subtle, rich, white foods such as risotto, veal, mushroom dishes, and pastas."
Authenticity is the byword at Palio, making it a Michelin recommended destination for “comfortable dining” and a perennial Wine Spectator award winner. The menu changes monthly, adapting to take advantage of seasonal ingredients from local family farms as well as free range, sustainable agricultural and local artisan food products.
