Mingus Amungus, led by Piedmont resident Miles Perkins, builds on the bebop, funk and classical rhythms of virtuoso bass player Charles Mingus. Also on the program are Piedmont singer/songwriter Mike Rufo and reggae artist Far I Shields; and Together We Slam, Piedmont students performing written word pieces.
Proceeds benefit PADC's Grants Program, which funds programming and events supporting and promoting diversity in the Piedmont schools and community.
