You're invited to the 12th Annual San Francisco OysterFest in Fort Mason’s Great Meadow on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A day of tasty music and succulent oysters by the San Francisco Bay, this year’s Festival features an exciting lineup of live bands: Rodrigo y Gabriela, Guster, Pepper, Tea Leaf Green and The Silent Comedy.

Named “Artist of the Month” by Rockband.com for March 2011, headliners Rodrigo y Gabriela are a fast-paced rhythmic guitar duo from Mexico and Ireland making their exclusive 2011 Northern California appearance. Featured at Coachella and Glastonbury, Rodrigo Y Gabriela have just collaborated with Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack for “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” the biggest anticipated summer movie of 2011.

The 2011 San Francisco OysterFest stands apart on the horizon of Bay Area events because of its unique pairing of oysters and Guinness stout. A wide range of food and beverages, including wines, ales, lagers and many nonalcoholic beverages are also available.

Other event features include the popular “Shuck and Swallow” competition, cooking demonstrations, an oyster history exhibition, the Jameson Cocktail Experience, and a spacious children’s play area.

The largest Oyster Festival on the West Coast, the Annual San Francisco OysterFest has drawn over 250,000 people since its first year in 2000, with over half a million delectable oysters consumed.
